Tourism is really improving in Nicaragua although many people still skip this country because of it`s bad name. It reminds people of civil wars, earthquakes and doesn`t give them a safe feeling. How different is that in real! The people of Nicaragua are really friendly, the country is beautifull  and you can have a cheap vacation compared to for instance Costa Rica. The only place I do not recommend is Managua, it is actually like every capital in central America, not much to see and not really safe. For the rest everything is really quiet and laid back. Colonial Granada, one of the oldest Spanish colonial cities, beautifull Leon, San Juan del Sur at the pacific ocean and of course Isla de Ometepe. If you have plans visiting Central America, be surprised by Nicaragua!
